Two things today after a weekend off news and spending time relaxing.
President Donald Trump ordered the capture of Nicolas Maduro and his wife? Reason claimed is due to charges of drug trafficking and possession of weapons of destruction? Is this really anything less than toppling of the Venezuela government? Not in my opinion. Some consider it an act of war. Still others seem to be okay with it.
The U. S. under President Trump for the second term is not heading in a good direction. We see very little we can claim as “America First Agenda” as Trump seems completely off rails on campaign promises. Nothing close to his promise is seen, not even in handling of illegal immigration. Each more brings more of the world against us and what we stand for. Frankly I don’t know if anything happening is what America stands for anymore. We lost our collective way.
Second we see congress already talking about another shutdown of our government. Once again they are divided on healthcare benefits and no plan to solve the issue.
Dysfunctional is the best term I can apply to what I see happening today. What happened to what we believe in when this nation was founded. Please don’t tell me times change. What we as a nation was founded on will never change. Belief in God, family and a better way of life is timeless as timeless as the constitution we were founded on. These documents were never intended to be “living documents” that change as times change. Everything in those contracts is simple and timeless, we have convoluted what they actually meant throughout the history of our nation. But few see our errors in how we let things escape our grasp. Focus has become individualistic and not unity. Yet, unity is what those contracts represent. Everyone wanted a better life, to be free to do what they want without government control. Yet, control is what we the people have given our government. We have relinquished our self governing given by the constitution.
Now we see a President toppling foreign governments only because he can. Then assumes control of the government he toppled indicating he will keep control until a “suitable” government can be formed to take over. Of course that is a subjective “suitable government” only defined currently by President Trump.
You can look back and Panama, when the U. S. last captured a nations leader with the claim of controlling drugs. Yet today illegal drugs from Panama have only grown as result and the people of Panama have been left with an unstable government since then. So Trump claims to be perfect in every way indicating he is going to fix every issue of Venezuela. Drugs will completely dry up from there. I know that is never going to happen. Drugs have a market and suppliers will find a way to provide the product. Truthfully the flow of drugs will never be stopped because people won’t stop using them. Yet, we fail to realize how big an issue this really is with what Trump has done. How it will change international affairs throughout the world and the U. S. will fall further into the rabbit hole.
